Amalfi Coast itinerary: do less, enjoy more.
The Amalfi Coast is not built for rushed itineraries. The roads are narrow, the towns are vertical and the best days are often the simplest ones.
A good Amalfi Coast itinerary should not try to see everything. It should protect the rhythm of the trip: arrival, views, boats, lunches, evenings and enough time to enjoy the hotel you paid for.

Three days on the Amalfi Coast
Three days is the minimum. Use it for one base, one boat or coastal day, and one slower town day.
Day 1. Arrive with a private transfer, check in, settle and walk locally without anything ambitious. Day 2. Your main coast day, visiting Positano, Amalfi or Ravello, or taking a boat. Day 3. Keep it slower, with the hotel, a long lunch and one nearby town or beach.
Best for short romantic stays and travellers adding Amalfi to a bigger Italy route.

Five days on the Amalfi Coast
Five days is much better. It gives the coast room to feel like a holiday.
Day 1 arrive and settle. Day 2 explore your base properly. Day 3 boat day or Capri. Day 4 Ravello, Amalfi or Positano depending on where you stay. Day 5 a slow day with a beach club, the hotel and a long lunch.
Best for couples, honeymoons and relaxed first-time Amalfi trips.
Seven days on the Amalfi Coast
Seven days works if you want a deeper coastal holiday rather than a fast stop. Stay in one strong base, or split the trip with Capri or Sorrento.
A possible route: Positano or Amalfi for four nights, Capri or Ravello for two nights, then Sorrento or Naples for one night before departure.
Best for honeymoons, luxury trips and travellers who want boats, hotels and slow days.
What to avoid
Do not change base every night. Do not arrive without transfer planning. Do not underestimate steps and luggage. Do not treat Capri as a casual half day if it matters to you. Do not rent a car unless you have a very specific reason. Do not plan the coast like a city break.
